The Vancouver Canucks have received some good news this week regarding their potential pursuit of former Stanley Cup champion & Calgary Flames forward Nazem Kadri.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin is continuing to scour the trade market continuing to scour the trade market for center help after striking out this summer and has been linked to several players recently including Casey Mittelstadt & Pavel Zacha of the Boston Bruins, Alexander Wennberg of the San Jose Sharks and even Nazem Kadri of the Calgary Flames, who has been named as a potential target.
Given where the Calgary Flames are in the National Hockey League standings early on in the 2025-26 season and their direction, it seems inevitable that guys like Nazem Kadri, Rasmus Andersson and possibly even Blake Coleman will be moved ahead of the trade deadline on Friday, March 6th, but for the London, Ontario native, it doesn't look like that'll happen until after his 1000th game.
"There is zero chance, zero, he is going anywhere before he plays Game 1,000. He's at 994 right now, it's obviously a huge deal to him, his family and the Flames, and nothing will happen before that 1,000th game is played," Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman said on Saturday night.

During the Saturday Headlines on Hockey Night in Canada, Friedman revealed that Nazem Kadri's full no-trade clause has been changed to a 13-team no-trade clause, which will certainly help the Flames get a deal done at some point in the months ahead.
"It came out this week that his trade status had changed. He's no longer got a full no-trade clause, he's got a 13-team no-trade list."

According to Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali, the Vancouver Canucks are NOT on Nazem Kadri's 13-team no-trade list, something that Patrik Allvin is probably quite happy about right now.
"For those asking, been told the Canucks are not on Nazim Kadri's no trade list." Dhaliwal said.
Kadri, 35, has appeared in 995 games in the NHL with the Toronto Maple Leafs, Colorado Avalanche and Calgary Flames, amassing 717 points (309 goals, 408 assists) and 768 penalty minutes.
One thing that the Vancouver Canucks, or any interested team, will have to consider after Kadri suits up for game number 1000 - which is slated for November 5th against the Columbus Blue Jackets, is how can they add his contract, as he's owed $7 million annually through the 2028-29 season.
