Vancouver Canucks Announce the Departure of Top Defense Prospect After Just 2 Preseason Games

With just two preseason games under hist belt with the Vancouver Canucks, general manager Patrik Allvin has delivered the bad new to top defense prospect Sawyer Mynio, as he will not be remaining with the team.
After making an appearance for Team Canada at the IIHF World Junior U-20 Championships and dominating in his over age year with the Seattle Thunderbirds and Calgary Hitmen, Mynio made his feelings known to the Vancouver Canucks where he thinks he should play this year.
«Abbotsford [Canucks in the AHL] is the place to start and just work my way up from there,» said Mynio, a 6-foot-1, 180-pound, left-shot defenseman.

Vancouver Canucks send down Sawyer Mynio to the Abbotsford Canucks after just two preseason games
Although Mynio has made major progress in his development, adding a lot more offence to his already strong defensive game, putting up 53 points in 63 games in his post-draft season, then had 45 points in just 48 games last season, his first two games were less than stellar.
With his poor play and strong competition between Elias Pettersson (D), Tom Willander and Victor Mancini, the team made the decsion to cut him from the team, being the only one to be sent down since they sent down 9 last week.
General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that D Sawyer Mynio has been assigned to Abbotsford (AHL)
It will be interesting to monitor his game down in the AHL and see if he earns his way back into the NHL lineup.
