With the Vancouver Canucks' regular season started in just over a week , the injury bug has already hit them pretty hard as an injury update has been officially given on Nils Hoglander.

The 2024-25 NHL season for the Vancouver Canucks was clearly one to forget as they missed the Stanley Cup playoffs and had a year riddled with drama and injury.
Now, with the season about to commence, the team has officially suffered their first significant injury.

Vancouver Canucks forward Nils Hoglander out week-to-week with a lower body injury

When the Canucks took on the Calgary Flames for their second game of the preseason, Nils Hoglander vowed that he would out his troubles behind him and get back to doing what he does best, scoring goals.
After opening the scoring for the Canucks, a concerning moment rained down as just before the conclusion of the second period,, Hoglander was seen going down the Canucks tunnel with an apparent injury after taking a big hit.
From what I can tell this was Nils Höglander's last shift. Gets hit by Etienne Morin in the neutral zone, then again by Daniil Miromanov behind the play at the end. #Canucks
Hoglander was forced to exit the game with an injury that did not see him return.
A viral photo showed him leaving the building with a boot on his leg, confirming an injury to his lower body.
At the time, the severity of the ailment was unclear, but Assistant Coach Brett McLean made sure to update the fans on Friday, confirming Hoglander is out week-to-week with a lower-body injury, per Sportsnet 650's Randip Janda.
With a lot of holes still in the Canucks lineup, Hoglander is going to be asked to step up to the plate, and he cannot do that if he is sidelined with an injury.
