Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood has made a pretty significant decision off the ice as he enters the final year of his contract with the B.C. club.

Last summer, Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin was looking to round out the team's bottom-six forward group and did so by signing UFA forward Kiefer Sherwood to a two-year contract, just a few months after they faced him in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
Sherwood exceeded everyone's expectations during his first season with the Vancouver Canucks organization, breaking the NHL's single-season hits record and set new career highs in goals, assists and points.
As Sherwood prepares for his second year with the Canucks, he's reportedly made a big decision off the ice that he hopes will help him earn more money on his next contract, whether that's in Vancouver or elsewhere.

According to Rick Dhaliwal of Donnie & Dhali, Vancouver Canucks forward Kiefer Sherwood has changed agents and will now be represented by Rich Evans and Judd Moldaver of Wasserman Hockey.
"Rich Evans and Judd Moldaver of Wasserman have added Keifer Sherwood as a client.
An impending UFA
Will be interesting if things move along or if the year goes along." Dhaliwal said.
Sherwood, 30, is currently making $1.5 million USD annually on his current contract, but with the league's salary cap rising, he could be in for a decent payday if he's able to replicate his success last season and prove that it wasn't just a one-off.
Earlier this summer, Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin mentioned that they've had preliminary discussions on a contract extension with Kiefer Sherwood, but nearly two months later, nothing has materialized.
"In a recent appearance on Sportsnet 650, GM Patrik Allvin indicated that he has had preliminary discussions about a contract extension with Sherwood's camp." Pro Hockey Rumours said.

The Canucks are likely still weighing the pros and cons of signing Kiefer Sherwood to an extension and it's safe to say that they'll want to see how he performs early on in the 2025-26 campaign before giving him a pay raise, just on the off chance that last season was a fluke and he comes back down to earth a little bit.
If the Canucks are able to find a way to keep Kiefer Sherwood around on a lower term contract, possibly in the two-to-three year range with a cap hit of $2.5-$2.75 million, that would be a fair deal for everyone involved.
