An Ottawa Senators youngster, who the club selected in the first round five years ago, has recently been suggested as a possible trade target for the Vancouver Canucks.

The Vancouver Canucks are among several teams that are still hoping to make a big splash on the trade market this summer, with Patrik Allvin continuing to search for some more depth down the middle, potentially someone that could fill their second line center hole.
Earlier this month, trading away Dakota Joshua to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the Vancouver Canucks opened up an additional $3.25 million in cap space to work with this summer for their pursuit of some help at the center ice position.
With the free agent market quite thin in terms of available centermen, aside from Jack Roslovic, Patrik Allvin will have to turn his attention to the trade market and potentially make his fourth deal of the summer if the club wants to add someone who can make an impact on their roster both offensively, defensively and in the faceoff dot.

Former first round pick suggested as potential trade target for Vancouver Canucks

In a recent article on Daily Hive, Trevor Beggs took a look at some players that the Vancouver Canucks could potentially target on the free agent market to round out their roster ahead of training camp in mid-September.
There are a number of intriguing players mentioned by Beggs, but one that stands out is Ridly Greig of the Ottawa Senators, who is coming off a career-year and would bring a bit more snarl to Vancouver's lineup.
"Shane Pinto and Ridly Greig are both young centres with some scoring touch and a high work rate. If the price is right, could either of them be pried out of Ottawa?" Beggs said.

Seeing the progression in Greig's game over the last few seasons and given the fact he's still just 22 (turns 23 in less than two weeks), it would take a massive offer for the Ottawa Senators to even consider moving on from him this early in his career.
What could that offer look like? Well for starters, it would have to include one of the team's top prospects - Jonathan Lekkerimaki or Tom Willander, along with an unprotected first round draft pick in 2026, as well as an already established NHLer.
It's a lot to give up, that's for sure, but it's hard seeing the Ottawa Senators accepting anything less than that for the Lethbridge, Alberta native, who is coming off back-to-back seasons of 25+ points.
