Vancouver Canucks Fans Show Heartwarming Support For J.T. Miller with Incredible Gesture
The Vancouver Canucks returned to Rogers Arena on Friday night to begin a six-game homestand as they hosted the Columbus Blue Jackets.
It was a tough start to the game for Rick Tocchet's group as the Canucks found themselves down 2-0 after the first 20 minutes with goals coming from
Mathieu Olivier and
Damon Severson.
Once the puck dropped for the middle frame, the Canucks ramped things up and went on to score five unanswered goals to defeat the Blue Jackets by a score of 5-2.
Vancouver Canucks fans rally behind J.T. Miller on Friday
While J.T. Miller might not have been in the lineup on Friday night, fans in attendance at Rogers Arena showed their support for the 31-year-old forward.
Approaching seven minutes remaining in the third period, fans at Rogers Arena began a J.T. Miller chant, which is exactly what we saw at a
WWE event last weekend.
"How you can not love the fans yelling J.T. out there?" Rick Tocchet said
according to Noah Strang of Daily Hive.
He added, "That was pretty cool. I thought that was pretty awesome. So thanks to the fans for that."
It was a great moment to see on Friday as the fans were able to show how much they care about the star forward, who has been a leader for this club over the last few years.
Miller has been away from the Vancouver Canucks since November 19th on a leave of absence for personal reasons and this week,
there was some positive news as the East Palestine, Ohio native began skating again and could re-join the club for practices next week.
Everyone is hoping that J.T. Miller is doing well and when he's able to return to the team, potentially on this homestand, he's going to get plenty of love from the Rogers Arena faithful.
