An NHL insider believes that Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin could end up on the hot seat during the 2025-26 season if the team doesn't perform well.

Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin had a fairly busy summer, well at least at the start of it, acquiring Evander Kane from the Edmonton Oilers and finding a way to keep Brock Boeser around, signing him to a seven-year deal on July 1st.
However, Allvin's summer has been far from perfect, as while the additions of Evander Kane and Vitali Kravtsov were solid, the club still lacks a legit second line centerman and it doesn't appear that they will be adding one before their first game of the regular season on October 9th.
After a disappointing 2024-25 campaign, as the club missed out on the Stanley Cup Playoffs for the fourth time in the last five seasons, pressure is at an all-time high in Vancouver and if they don't qualify for the postseason this year, then we could see some big chances next spring & summer.

Insider believes Patrik Allvin could be on the hot seat if team don't perform well this season

In a recent article for Canucks Army, Jeff Paterson dove into how much pressure Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin is facing this year, which will be his fourth full season at the helm.
Paterson believes that the seat under Patrik Allvin should be heating up, citing the fact that there hasn't been a lot of forward momentum for the organization and that they have just one playoff series win (2024 Round 1 vs Nashville) in his three-and-a-half season tenure as the club's General Manager.
"So, yes, the seat under Allvin should be heating up. It comes with the territory in professional sports. The first three and a half years have provided a few memories, but ultimately the record shows just one playoff series victory, too much turmoil and not nearly enough forward momentum for the organization as a whole." Paterson said.

Now, it's too early to say how the Vancouver Canucks will do during the 2025-26 campaign or make any predictions on that front, but hypothetically, even if they were to have a poor year, finish outside of a playoff spot or even worse, in a lottery position, it's hard to see them parting ways with Patrik Allvin mid-season and if they were to move on, it'll likely come at the end of the regular season.
However, if the Canucks are able to make it back to the Stanley Cup Playoffs in what should be a close Pacific Division race, which will require bounce backs from guys like Elias Pettersson & Thatcher Demko, then the noise surrounding Patrik Allvin's future will certainly quiet down.
