The Vancouver Canucks have officially made their decision with defenseman Noah Juulsen after it was reported that he wants the green light to be able to speak with other NHL clubs before free agency commences on July 1st.

With only two weeks until NHL free agency officially starts the Vancouver Canucks are in talks with a lot of team and their own player sin order to make moves so the disappointing 2024-25 season doesn't repeat itself.

Noah Juulsen wants to explore his options but the Vancouver Canucks have other plans with the defenseman

For most of the 2024-2025 season, Noah Juulsen was slotted in by head coach Rick Tocchet as a number 7 defenseman, getting healthy scratched on numerous occasions mixed with some injury trouble early in the campaign.
With his given role and the current situation on the Canucks blue line, where many young guns like Victor Mancini and Elias Pettersson (D) are emerging as stars, there is not much room for Juulsen anymore.
Canucks reporter Rick Dhaliwal disclosed that that the Canucks officially denied his request as they might need him next season, especially if they move a defenseman during the summer.
"The reason it was denied is because the Canucks may or may not need Juulsen. It depends on if they trade a right-shot defenseman for top-six [forward] help. If the Canucks move a [Victor] Mancini or a [Tom] Willander for a second-line center, the Canucks may have to re-sign Juulsen to be that six-seven guy." Dhaliwal said while making an appearance on Halford and Brough on Sportsnet 650 radio.

In 109 games for the Vancouver Canucks, the 28-year-old d-man has 1 goal and 8 assists for only 9 points, 49 penalty minutes and is a minus-16...
