Vancouver Canucks Issue Disappointing News to Season Ticket Holders

Some Vancouver Canucks fans aren't too happy with the club this week after they reportedly received a disappointing email regarding the team's ongoing renovations.
After years of wanting change, Vancouver Canucks fans got it this offseason as the organization
began tearing out the burgundy seats back in April and replacing them with brand-new black ones which include a bit more leg room and of course, a cup holder.
"We are hosting this event earlier in the year compared to previous seasons due to the organization's mission to begin the process of replacing the seats at Rogers Arena immediately following the conclusion of the Canucks season, during which time our team will have extremely limited access to the seating bowl due to construction" the team said following a season ticket holder event back in March.
An
update was given earlier this month regarding the renovations, with the club in good spirits about where things stood, with about 80% of the seats replaced at that time, however just a few weeks later and some fans have been left quite unhappy after receiving an email last week.
Disappointing email sent to some Vancouver Canucks season ticket holders
According to Patrick Johnston of The Province, some Vancouver Canucks season ticket holder received an email from the organization last week informing them that despite opening night not being for another 11 days, their seat replacement will not be able to occur until the Olympic break in mid-February.
Johnston added that the Canucks' reason for the delay in changing some of the seats has to do with scheduling and supply issues, with those season ticket holders who received the email last week being offered a $50 credit per seat, along with an upgrade to club seats for one game this season.
"Earlier this week, a small number of Vancouver Canucks season ticket holders received a rather discomforting email: the promised new seat they'd be getting for this season wasn't ready. Most of the building seats had been replaced for the first time in three decades, but it seemed the team had run out of time." Johnston said.
He added, "Affected season ticket holders were offered a $50 per seat credit and one-game complimentary upgrade to the club seats. After having their ticket prices jacked through the roof two years in a row."
The renovations are very close to being completed, so it's easy to see why some fans are frustrated over the news and it's seems a bit ridiculous that they've had all summer to get this done and still, with 11 days to go until the Vancouver Canucks open the season against the Calgary Flames, it's not finished.
