A National Hockey League insider gave a big update on injured Vancouver Canucks defenseman Victor Mancini, who was placed on IR ahead of Tuesday's game.
During Sunday night's game against the Edmonton Oilers, Vancouver Canucks defenseman Victor Mancini collided with
Curtis Lazar and a few seconds later, was hit by
Trent Frederic, which forced him to leave and not return for the third period or overtime.
"Mancini's last shift. Heads off Curtis Lazar cutting to the net, takes a loud hit from Trent Frederic along the boards, then leaves the ice. #Canucks" Lachlan Irvine said.
After the game, Head Coach Adam Foote told reporters that Mancini was still being evaluated by the team's training staff and there was no timeline for when he could return, but just a few days later and it appears we know when the blueline may return to the lineup.
NHL insider gives big injury update on Vancouver Canucks' Victor Mancini
On Tuesday's edition of Donnie & Dhali, NHL insider Rick Dhaliwal revealed that the injury Victor Mancini is dealing with is "upper-body", perhaps to his arm.
Dhaliwal went on to add that he's hearing that the Hancock, Michigan native will be out of action for at least the next seven-to-ten days.
"Heard upper-body, maybe the arm. Is the arm upper-body? I heard maybe the arm. 7-10 days." Dhaliwal said.
A seven-to-ten day timeline would put Victor Mancini on track to return to the Vancouver Canucks' lineup potentially as early as next Wednesday (November 5th) against the Chicago Blackhawks.
""General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today the following roster moves:
- D Victor Mancini has been placed on injured reserve (retroactive to Oct 26).
- D
Derek Forbort has been placed on LTIR (retroactive to Oct 11).
- D Tom Willander has been recalled from Abbotsford (AHL)." the Canucks announced.
Mancini, 23, has appeared in five games this season for the Vancouver Canucks where he's gone point-less with five penalty minutes, six hits and is a minus-two.
