The Vancouver Canucks may reportedly be without their captain, Quinn Hughes, for the team's upcoming road trip, which begins on Thursday night against St. Louis.

The National Hockey League's condensed schedule early on in the 2025-26 season is already causing headaches for all 32 teams, with several of them, including the Vancouver Canucks, dealing with multiple injury issues.
For the Vancouver Canucks, they currently have eight players on their NHL roster on the sidelines 11 games into the season, among them being captain Quinn Hughes, who suffered a lower-body injury against the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night and has missed his team's last two contests against the Edmonton Oilers and New York Rangers, respectively.
With Vancouver getting ready to head out on short three game road trip, with stops in St. Louis, Minnesota and Nashville, it looks like the club might be without their captain and best player on the roster, Quinn Hughes.

When speaking with reporters ahead of Tuesday night's game against the New York Rangers, Vancouver Canucks Head Coach Adam Foote said that Quinn Hughes will continue to be evaluated by their training staff on Wednesday before a decision is made on whether or not he'll travel with them to St. Louis.
"Head coach Adam Foote told reporters Tuesday that Hughes's injury, which he only said is a lower-body issue, would be evaluated further Wednesday morning, before the Canucks head out on a road trip that will take them to St. Louis, Minnesota and Nashville." Patrick Johnston of The Province said.

Hughes, 26, wasn't having the greatest of starts to the 2025-26 campaign, fueling speculation prior to Sunday that he was dealing with some sort of injury, which has now been revealed as a lower-body issue.
In nine games, the Orlando, Florida native has seven points (one goal, six assists), no penalty minutes and is a minus-one, while averaging a whopping 26:37 of ice time per night.
After a difficult 2024-25 campaign for the team as a whole, along with rumors he dealt with in the offseason, Quinn Hughes probably isn't too happy with how this season has started, but hopefully for him and the fan base, he'll be back on the ice soon, contributing in a big way towards their goal of reaching the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
