The Vancouver Canucks and their ownership group, led by Francesco Acquilini have seen a significant jump in the franchise's value following a recent update from CNBC.
National Hockey League franchise valuations are at an all-time high and the game, from a business and financial standpoint, is in a very good position, thanks to Commissioner Gary Bettman.
Before the NHL's 2025-26 season began, Sportico released their annual franchise valuation list, which saw the Vancouver Canucks fall in the NHL's overall rankings, but rose by 8 percent to $1.87 billion USD.

While other outlets may use different methodology to determine a franchise's overall value, a new report from CBNC this week suggests that the Vancouver Canucks may be worth even more than the $1.87 billion USD that Sportico said before the season.
Vancouver Canucks, Francesco Aquilini see significant rise in franchise valuation from CBNC
This week, CBNC released their National Hockey League franchise valuations for all 32 clubs and for the Vancouver Canucks, they actually rank a lot higher than many would've thought.
CNBC has the Vancouver Canucks in 12th place among teams in the National Hockey League with a franchise value of 2.2 billion USD, a rise of 13 percent from this time last year.
"The average NHL team is now worth $2.2 billion, according to CNBC's Official NHL Team Valuations, 15% more than last year, as richer national media rights deals drive up franchise values." CNBC said.
The Vancouver Canucks are the fourth-highest Canadian franchise on CNBC's list with only the Toronto Maple Leafs (1st - $4.3 billion), Montreal Canadiens (3rd - $3.4 billion) and Edmonton Oilers ($3.1 billion) ahead of them, while the Calgary Flames, Winnipeg Jets and Ottawa Senators all rank below them at 17th, 29th and 30th, respectively.
This week's news is great for the Vancouver Canucks and shows that while things might be tough on the ice right now, the organization is thriving off the ice and we could potentially see the club get close to, if not over, the $2.5 billion mark next year.
