The Vancouver Canucks saw a slight increase in their franchise value ahead of the 2025-26 season, however they dropped multiple spots in their overall NHL ranking.

Vancouver Canucks see slight rise in franchise value, drop multiple spots in overall NHL ranking
Before we jump into this year's franchise valuation, it's important to take a look at what Sportico uses to calculate what each National Hockey League club is worth.
Sportico takes three specific categories into account before releasing their yearly franchise valuation list - Total Value, Team Value, as well as Team-Related Businesses and Real Estate Holdings.
"Total Value: The sum of the enterprise value of an NHL franchise, combined with the value of team-related businesses and real estate holdings.
Team Value: NHL franchise valuation, derived from metrics by which hockey-team transactions occur, including aggregating local and national revenues and factoring in a team-specific multiplier. This represents the fair market value of the team itself, excluding related businesses held by its owners.
Team-Related Businesses and Real Estate Holdings: The value of a franchise owner's equity in team-related businesses that are distinct corporate entities, as well as government-assessed real estate related to venues, practice facilities and other properties, including AHL teams." Sportico said.
In 2025, the Vancouver Canucks saw a small 8% increase in their valuation and are now worth $1.87 billion US (up $140 million US in 2024) and their overall team rank is 18th, down five spots from last year.
The Canucks are also fourth among Canadian teams in the NHL, behind Toronto (1st - $4.25 billion US), Montreal (3rd - $3.3 billion US) and Edmonton (6th - $2.75 billion US), while Calgary (19th - $1.82 billion US), Ottawa (30th - $1.34 billion US) and Winnipeg (31st - $1.33 billion US) are all below Vancouver.
#Canucks have fallen five spots in franchise valuation among NHL teams to 18th per @Sportico.
The organization is worth $1.87 billion, an 8% increase over last year. That's the third smallest year-over-year jump of any NHL team." Noah Strang said on X.
We'll have to wait and see what the next 12 months have in store for the Vancouver Canucks franchise and if they are able to claw their way back into the top-half of the National Hockey League when it comes to their valuation.
