A new report from The Athletic revealed that the Vancouver Canucks have changed their asking price for pending unrestricted free agent forward Kiefer Sherwood.

After deciding to make their pending unrestricted free agents available at the end of November, the Vancouver Canucks have found themselves in the middle of trade rumors around the league with a number of their players drawing interest, including Kiefer Sherwood.
Without a doubt, Kiefer Sherwood is Vancouver's most valuable trade chip of any of their pending unrestricted free agents this season, as the Columbus, Ohio native is on pace to break his career-high in goals and potentially points as well and so far, upwards of 12 teams have expressed interest in him.
With less than three months to go until the National Hockey League's trade deadline, it appears that the Vancouver Canucks have changed their minds, slightly, on what they'd ideally like in return for Kiefer Sherwood.

Vancouver Canucks reportedly change asking price for Kiefer Sherwood

For a couple weeks now, it's been known that the Vancouver Canucks are looking for a first round pick in any trade involving Kiefer Sherwood, and while they should have no issue getting that given the amount of teams in the mix for him, it looks like Patrik Allvin has his eyes on another asset too.
In an article for The Athletic this week, Joe Smith and Michael Russo are reporting that while the Vancouver Canucks originally wanted a prospect for Kiefer Sherwood, wanted a prospect in exchange for Kiefer Sherwood, they now have their sights set on a "good roster player" in addition to a first round pick.
"The Canucks have shopped him around the league and originally wanted a good, young prospect. According to league sources, the Wild offered one (it's unclear who) and the Canucks have since changed gears. Reportedly, they now want a good roster player and have also asked teams for a first-round pick." Smith and Russo said.

The return on Kiefer Sherwood is going to depend on how he performs over the next couple of months leading into the Olympic break as the 31-year-old winger has struggled of late, with no points in his last eight games and no goals since November 16th against the Tampa Bay Lightning.
We'll have to wait and see what the coming months have in store for Kiefer Sherwood, but Patrik Allvin desperately needs him to pick up the pace in order to get the return he desires.
