Vancouver Canucks goaltender Thatcher Demko opened up on Tuesday afternoon regarding his return to the crease this week after suffering yet another injury.
Injuries have wrecked havoc for the Vancouver Canucks in the first two months of the 2025-26 season as among those that have been sidelined include star goaltender Thatcher Demko.
Demko suffered a lower-body injury on November 11th against the Winnipeg Jets, just days after he was ruled out of a back-to-back for the Vancouver Canucks for what the club called maintenance reasons.
The San Diego, California native has been skating recently and Tuesday, Thatcher Demko gave an update on his injury and revealed he's good to go for Thursday night's game against the Buffalo Sabres.
"I feel ready to go. We knew exactly what was going on. It was a minor tweak of something, and pretty much just had to give it time and get the reps back, so we've done that and excited to be hopefully back in the lineup." Demko said.

When meeting with reporters after practice on Tuesday, Thatcher Demko shared how he's feeling about his return to game action after suffering another injury following a difficult last 20 months.
Demko said he's been frustrated and pissed off after getting hurt, especially after having such a great summer on and off the ice preparing for the 2025-26 campaign.
"Any guy can go through and have a great summer and then get hurt. I am sitting there, you know, pretty much just beat myself up for a week. And you feel guilty and feel bummed out and pissed off and all those things. But it's part of the game, and I can only control so much. At the end of the day, I know that I'm doing everything humanly possible, preparation-wise, education-wise. I have a great team that surrounds me and helps me do what I can to make sure that I'm ready to play. I'm the guy who feels it the most when things don't turn out the way we want it to. But yeah, I've been working hard and ready to go." Demko said according to Adam Kierszenblat of The Hockey News.
Demko, 30, has appeared in ten games this season for the Canucks where he has a 5-4-0 record along with a 2.80 goals against average and a .903 save percentage.
We'll have to wait for official confirmation from Head Coach Adam Foote following Thursday's morning skate if Thatcher Demko will be between the pipes against the Buffalo Sabres, with puck drop for that game set for 7 p.m. PT.
