While the Vancouver Canucks might be struggling lately, Rogers Arena will be rocking tonight tonight as a member of the organization makes their NHL debut.
After a 6-2 loss to the Edmonton Oilers on Thursday night, the Vancouver Canucks return home tonight as they take on
Alexander Ovechkin and the NHL-leading Washington Capitals tonight on Hockey Night in Canada.
Rick Tocchet's group took to the ice at Rogers Arena this morning for a skate, which turned into a bit of practice, as Jeff Paterson of Rink Wide: Vancouver reported a short while ago.
The Vancouver Canucks will have two Elias Pettersson's on their roster tonight as they take to the ice against the Washington Capitals.
"looks like #Canucks defenceman Elias Pettersson is set to make his #NHL debut tonight. He was born a few months before Alex Ovechkin was drafted in 2004"
Jeff Paterson said.
The Vasteras, Sweden native is currently in his first full season of professional hockey here in North America and has spent it entirely in the American Hockey League with Abbotsford up to this point.
In 36 games with the Abbotsford Canucks, Pettersson has put up 13 points (one goal, 12 assists), 36 penalty minutes and is a plus-eight.
Puck drop for Elias Pettersson's National Hockey League debut tonight is set for just after 7 pm PT and can be viewed across Canada on Sportsnet and CBC.
