The Vancouver Canucks could add some size up front in the 2nd round of the 2025 NHL Entry Draft, assuming they remain at 47th overall.
Eddie Genborg a potential fit for Vancouver Canucks
As we near closer to the NHL Entry Draft, there is no shortage of rumours around the Vancouver Canucks, including some that expect the pick to be dealt.
In addition to the 15th overall pick, the Canucks also hold 47th overall in round 2, and
The Hockey News' Adam Kierszenblat points to Linkopings HC forward Eddie Genborg as a potential target for Vancouver with the pick.
Genborg is listed at 6'2, 205 pounds and while he scored just 2 goals in 28 games with limited ice time in the SHL, he had 34 points in 28 games in the Swedish junior league.
The 18 year old is projected to be drafted in the mid 1st round, and is described as a physically dominant power forward who plays with an edge and a high motor, but could stand to work on his skating and puck skills.
Canucks GM Patrik Allvin, a Swede himself, certainly has shown a willingness to draft from the region including recent first rounders Jonathan Lekkerimäki and
Tom Willander.
If the team keeps their pick and Genborg is available at #47, don't be surprised if he's their guy.
