As the National Hockey League's trade deadline gets closer and closer, the Vancouver Canucks are going to be a team to watch as it could be quite a busy period for Patrik Allvin.
The Vancouver Canucks have been quite active on the trade market in the last week after
trading J.T. Miller to the New York Rangers, while in another deal, acquiring
Marcus Pettersson from the Pittsburgh Penguins and it doesn't look like Patrik Allvin is done.
Vancouver Canucks' Brock Boeser linked to Western Conference Team
Vancouver Canucks forward Brock Boeser is in the final year of his contract and is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1st and with talks of a new deal appearing to be nonexistent at this time, a trade before the deadline is a legit possibility.
According to Murat Ates of The Athletic, he believes that Brock Boeser would be a good fit for the Winnipeg Jets, who are currently first in the NHL standings with a 37-14-3 record through 54 games.
"It makes loads of sense to me that the Jets would still be interested in Boeser, whether on the trade market right now or as an unrestricted free agent this summer. I don't view his no-trade list as a concern, either, given my understanding of Boeser's relationships with Jets management." Ates said.
Ates went on to say that Brock Boeser would be a good fit on a line with
Cole Perfetti and fellow pending UFA
Nikolaj Ehlers, adding that they could use draft capital in a deal to acquire the Burnsville, Minnesota native from Vancouver.
"The obvious spot for Boeser to fit would be at second-line right wing. If he were to be acquired for draft capital, that could put Perfetti between Ehlers and Boeser on a scoring line." Ates said.
Other than draft capital, the Vancouver Canucks could take a look at some of Winnipeg's prospects, such as
Kevin He or
Colby Barlow, both of whom would bring an offensive punch to the NHL in a few years time.
Boeser, 27, has appeared in 45 games this season for the Vancouver Canucks where he's recorded 33 points (16 goals, 17 assists), 16 penalty minutes and is a minus-14.
While he might not be producing at the same rate he was last season for Vancouver, he would still be a solid addition for any contending team and could fetch the Canucks a nice return in a deal prior to the deadline.
