BREAKING | Allvin announces the signing of a highly touted NCAA Defenseman
The Canucks were heavily linked to tons of NCAA free agents and they had already struck big when they acquired Max Sasson, but Allvin still had a move up his sleeves.
The team agreed with the free agent Akito Hirose who had been playing at Minnesota State University up until today. Hirose is a left-handed shot, 6'0'', and 170 pounds defenseman. A Calgary native that's quite familiar with the area since he spent 4 years with the Salmon Arm Silverbacks in the BCHL:
«General Manager Patrik Allvin announced today that the club has agreed to terms with defenceman Akito Hirose on a one-year, entry-level contract.»
Per the reports, Hirose signed a one-year deal and will be a free agent with restriction by July 1st and he'll be back to the negotiation table afterward.
Hirose collected nothing less than 27 points in 38 games this year, he was Jake Livingstone's d-partner. The reports from Rick Dhaliwal stated that nothing less than 10 teams were after the defenseman and the Canucks were the one to take him home.
