OFFICIAL ANNOUCEMENT FROM THE CANUCKS
There were rumblings out there suggesting that Allvin had been in talks with the forward about an upcoming ELC and today the announcement finally came:
Patrik Allvin also gave his comments on the teams' signing and confirmed that Lekkerimaki would be taking part in the team's development camp that will be held in July:
"Jonathan had a good run in the playoffs and gained a lot of valuable experience but unfortunately his team fell short of its ultimate goal. Each player's development path is different and in Jonathan's case, he had to deal with a lot of adversity this past year. But with each challenge he faced, he found a way to learn and grow. With the help of our staff, we will find the best path forward for him and we look forward to Jonathan joining our development camp in July."
At the moment, Lekkerimaki is expected to remain in Sweden for next year as he's expected to move up to the SHL (Sweden's top league) where he'll continue his development before making the jump to North-American hockey. We'll keep you updated on his progression!
