LATEST | Line brawl breaks out in OHL game after sucker punch
A wild scene took place in an Ontario Hockey League preseason game earlier this week between the Sault Ste. Marie Greyhounds and the Sudbury Wolves.
Late in the first period, while skating to the faceoff dot outside Sudbury's zone, Wolves forward Landon McCallum when he appeared to rip off Greyhounds forward Alex Kostov's chain.
Kostov then decided to drop his mitts and sucker punched McCallum, which led to a line brawl between the two teams and another spirited bout took place at the same time between Jordan D'Intino and Nathan Villeneuve.
According to the box score on the OHL's official website, nine game misconducts were handed out following the line brawl. Sudbury's Nathan Villeneuve and Sault Ste. Marie's Alex Kostov and Jordan D'Intino all received two game misconducts each. The other three were handed out to Greyhounds' Julian Fantino as well as a pair of Wolves forwards - Chase Coughlan and Landon McCallum.
As of Friday morning, there is surprisingly no suspensions that have been handed out by the Ontario Hockey League, but there's no doubt that the entire incident is being reviewed.
