LATEST | NHL Awards are in: Elias Pettersson received a well-deserved recognition
Elias Pettersson registered a personal-record season in every aspect of the game. The Swede scored outstanding numbers as he scored 39 goals and collected 102 points.
The NHL held his annual award show, and while Elias Pettersson wasn't in nomination for any award, he still received recognition for his prowess. The voting revealed that Pettersson turned up 9th in voting for the Selke, awarded to the best two-way forward. Patrice Bergeron ultimately led the voting.
It didn't end there for the Canucks' star, as he also finished 18th in the Hart voting:
This is only the beginning for the forward since his best years are still ahead of him. The forward, we'll be eligible to sign an extension starting on July 1st as he'll enter the last year of the bridge deal he signed two years ago. As the team's top player and only 24 years of age, hopes are that Allvin and his team will sign an 8-year deal to secure his services for a long time.
