The Hurricanes were an extremely dominant team all season long even though they've been dealt awful decks all year.

They acquired Max Pacioretty who was meant to miss a big part of the season, he did make a full recovery to play just a few games before he re-injured himself and it ended his season.
A few moments later, the Canes were dealt even worst news when they learned that one of the team's tops forward Andrei Svechnikov would also be out for the remainder of the year. The Canes would now be entering the playoffs without their two best wingers.
Tonight, while the Canes managed à back to back win to take the lead 2-0 in the series against the Islanders, another terrible news has fallen upon the Canes as Teuvo Teravainen was hurt. Rod Brind'Amour later confirmed that the winger would also need surgery, which puts an end to his season:
This can't come at a worse time for the Canes as they were meant to be contenders for the cup, but losing yet another big piece of their forward group surely doesn't help them in that regard.
They'll be taking the road to play the Islanders at home with a 2-0 lead on the series since Jesper Fast sealed the deal in Overtime.
