When the Vancouver Canucks signed J.T. Miller to his extension of 7 years at 8 mil per year, it looked like a steal of a deal for a player who scored 99 points last season. There would be regression for sure but he was expected to lead the team moving forward for the next few years.

Blake Price pointed this out on the Daily Hive and the SekeresandPrice podcast today.

His no-trade clause and contract don't kick in til next year. There are teams that have the cap space and despite his defensive miscues, he could be a valuable asset to any team who's willingly pushing for the cup.
Bo Horvat and other trade baits aside (Luke Schenn, Conor Garland and others), Miller could be that 2nd line winger, or centre for that matter, that helps a team strive for hockey's golden grail.
