Watch: Boeser ties the game late, Pettersson one-hand move to seal the deal in shootout
The Canucks were in Raleigh this afternoon ending their 5-game road trip and after coming off of 4 loss. They shook it up and captured a 4-3 shootout win.
The Canucks surrendered a 2-0 lead in the first, but goals from Ethan Bear and J.T. Miller got them back in the game. The Canes were able to capture a late lead at the 17:08 mark, but it was Brock Boeser that sent everyone to OT when he scored with only 17 seconds left on the board. Watch:
The OT was filled with high level chances but both netminders stood tall and gave us highlight real saves, and no-one could seal the deal in the extra frame. Which led to this beautiful goal, Elias Pettersson gave us his best Peter Forsberg impression.
The Canucks end their trip with 2 points on a possibility of 10. The game ending in shootout does raise the question, should the game's result be determined with a sudden death 3-on-3 OT or do the skill competition still deserves to be there?
