Just hours ago, the Canucks concluded a trade with the Flames that sent the big-bodied d-man Nikita Zadorov to the Canucks in exchange for two draft picks. Days after, Allvin sent Anthony Beauvillier to the Blackhawks to free up the cap space they needed to make it happen.

THE CONTINUITY OF BO HORVAT'S LEGACY
A little under a year ago now, Patrik Allvin made the call to trade the team's captain instead of re-signing him, and to this day, the Canucks are still getting paid for it.

While the initial return included Anthony Beauvilier, Aatu Raty and a 1st-Round Selection. The trade has now unfolded into three others, which helped address many issues on the team's roster. Here's what the updated trade looks like now for the Canucks:

CANUCKS GAVE

- Bo Horvat
- 2nd Round Selection
- 3rd Round Selection

CANUCKS RECEIVED

- Filip Hronek
- Nikita Zadorov
- Aatu Raty
- 4th Round Selection

Looking at the effect Hronek's had on the Canucks' defence, and the way he's played through the first 22 games makes this trade worthwhile. On top of it all, they added another NHL-caliber Defenseman and a prospect with tons of upside in Aatu Raty.
