There's no doubt that Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin will do whatever it takes to help his club improve this summer and with the draft and free agency roughly one month away, things could get busy quite quickly.
On Tuesday, while a guest on the NHL Network, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman confirmed that one of the teams interested in trading for Martin Necas is the Vancouver Canucks.
Trading for someone like Martin Necas won't be cheap. He's young, a restricted free agent and while he took a bit of a step back this season points-wise, has a lot of potential and would be a solid fit for any team around the National Hockey League.
Necas, 25, appeared in 77 games for the Carolina Hurricanes this season, putting up 53 points (24 goals, 29 assists), 42 penalty minutes and was a minus-nine. He went on to add nine points in 11 games during the Stanley Cup Playoffs. After the Hurricanes' season came to an end, Necas headed to Czechia to represent his nation at the 2024 IIHF World Championship, where he won the gold medal.
