A former Vancouver Canucks Assistant Coach has reportedly been hired by the Dallas Stars to become their next Head Coach, replacing Peter DeBoer.

After yet another exit in the Western Conference Final, the Dallas Stars decided it was time for a change behind the bench and the team fired Peter DeBoer, who was with the club for three seasons.
As the Dallas Stars began their search for their next bench boss, a former Vancouver Canucks coach quickly entered the mix for the vacancy and it appears that he has landed the job with the team that began his NHL coaching journey with 14 years ago.

Former Vancouver Canucks coach reportedly hired by the Dallas Stars

In a post on social media on Sunday morning, TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger revealed that the Dallas Stars have offered their Head Coaching job to former Vancouver Canucks Assistant Coach Glen Gulutzan and the two sides are working on a contract.
"Glen Gulutzan has been offered the @DallasStars head coaching job. Negotiations on contract are underway." Dreger said.
This was confirmed shortly after by Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman, who said that he's hearing the Dallas Stars are closing in on naming Glen Gulutzan as their new Head Coach.
"Hearing Glenn Gulutzan closing in on being next head coach of Dallas Stars" Friedman said.
Gulutzan, 53, spent two seasons behind the bench as the Head Coach of the Dallas Stars in 2011-12 and 2012-13 before being hired as an assistant with the Vancouver Canucks, a role that he held for three years.
When the Vancouver Canucks were looking for their next Head Coach following the departure of Rick Tocchet, many were wondering if if Gulutzan could return to British Columbia, but ultimately, Patrik Allvin & Co. opted to go with Adam Foote.
For the last seven seasons, Gulutzan has been an Assistant Coach with the Edmonton Oilers, helping them reach the Stanley Cup Final in back-to-back years and form one of the league's best power plays during his tenure with the Alberta club.
It's going to be interesting to see who will be joining Glen Gulutzan's staff in Dallas and if he tries to pry Manny Malhotra from the Vancouver Canucks organization to become one of his assistants.
