A rival of the Vancouver Canucks could reportedly enter the mix and sign Brock Boeser when he becomes an unrestricted free agent in less than 48 hours.

The clock is ticking on Brock Boeser's time with the Vancouver Canucks and in less than two days, the forward will become an unrestricted free agent and will be signing with a new club.
Vancouver Canucks General Manager Patrik Allvin made an attempt to sign Brock Boeser to a contract extension earlier this year, but the two sides couldn't get a deal done and in late May, it was reported by David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period that he was a longshot to remain with the club and would be hitting the open market on Canada Day.
"Boeser, 28, is a 'longshot' to re-sign with the Canucks, one team source confirmed to me this week. He is prepared to move on to the next chapter of his career and will attract significant interest this summer, especially given the limited market." Pagnotta said.

Vancouver Canucks rival could reportedly sign Brock Boeser on July 1st

During Sunday's edition of the 32 Thoughts podcast, Sportsnet insider Elliotte Friedman revealed that he's heard someone mention Brock Boeser being an option for the Edmonton Oilers this summer and he didn't shut it down, adding that it's "not impossible" if General Manager Stan Bowman is able to make it work money-wise.
"Someone talked about Boeser potentially going [to Edmonton]. I don't know how Edmonton fits this all in, but I don't think the idea is wrong.

I don't think it's impossible that Boeser would consider Edmonton if they can make that work." Friedman said.

Boeser, a native of Burnsville, Minnesota, has spent his entire career with the Vancouver Canucks to this point after being selected 23rd overall back in 2015 and has gone on to put up 434 points (204 goals, 230 assists) in 554 games.
In recent weeks, the 28-year-old has been linked to a number of different teams including his hometown Minnesota Wild, who will undoubtedly make a big push for him when the market opens at 9:01 am PT on Tuesday, with Boeser reportedly seeking a longer term deal in the 6-7 year range.
Boeser has been a thorn in Edmonton's side throughout his career so far, registering 30 points (17 goals, 13 assists) in 33 games, according to StatMuse, so the Oilers are hoping that they can either land him on Canada Day or he signs with another club that's not in the Pacific Division.
