LATEST | Rick Tocchet calls out the players after the loss to the Kraken
The Canucks came up short in their effort against the Kraken and suffered their first regulation lost on home ice this season. Nils Hoglander scored late in the third to make it 4-3, but it was too little too late.
TOCCHET SHOWS HIS DISAPPOINTMENT IN POST-GAME INTERVIEW
Tocchet took the stage after the loss and faced the press. The bench boss was straight to the point and identified the things that led to their loss and felt that they were just hungrier for it:
Sloppy changes, long shifts and inconsistent battle level tonight, the #Canucks played in a way he described as: «That's .500 hockey».
Andrei Kuzmenko, for his part, was benched during the game and Tocchet had hesitation in his response and made statement out of the issue:
«Kuzy's gotta start to play a little harder.»
Despite everything, the good news is that Kuzmenko finds ways to put himself on the board even if he's not at the top of his game right now. Through 17 games, the Russian managed 14 points, but only found the back of the on three occasions. Still long ways to go before he hit his personal record of 39.
The Canucks are bound to renew with formal action on Monday the 20th, when the San Jose Sharks. The perfect team to re-gain confidence.
