The Canucks pulled a steal last year when they acquired Ethan Bear and Lane Pederson for a 5th Round Pick. Bear quickly adjusted to the Vancouver life and instantly became a fan-favourite. By the end of the year, Rutherford revealed that the Canucks' number 74 was an essential part to the Canucks' retooling.
It was all trending in the right direction until Bear was asked to represent his country in the World Championship and was excellent during the tourney. There was no doubt that he was going to sign an extension with the team, until he suffered a dreadful injury, an injury that ended up costing him his contract due to the lengthy recovery that came with the surgery.
The first timeline evoked that Bear could be returning early December and now everything seems to be going according to plan. Ethan Bear was seen skating, with his Canucks gear and on the way to a full recovery:
On various occasions it was reported that the Canucks were still very much onto Bear. With the loads of surgeries and their important need for a right handed upgrade, the timing couldn't be any better for the Canucks.
