A very bold prediction was announced recently regarding Elias Pettersson's 2025-26 season, which he is hoping will be much better than last year's disappointing campaign.

The 2024-25 season was a difficult one for Elias Pettersson due to inconsistent play, injuries and a feud with his now former teammate J.T. Miller, but the Swedish forward is determined to bounce back.
Pettersson spoke about the upcoming season back in August, telling reporters in Sweden that he's out for revenge this year and wants to be a better leader for his team.
"I haven't thought about it, but for myself it's revenge. I'm not happy with last season. I'm trying to lead by example. But I know that I can become a better leader, in that aspect. I'm trying my best, but also trying to get better." Pettersson said.

Last season, due to the reasons mentioned earlier, Pettersson saw a big drop off in production, finishing the year with 45 points (15 goals, 30 assists) in 64 games and while it might be a bit unrealistic to expect him to return to being a 100-point player as soon as this season, one reporter is expecting a big campaign from him in the goals department.
In a recent article for Vancouver is Awesome, Daniel Wagner shared some bold predictions he has for the Vancouver Canucks' 2025-26 season and for Elias Pettersson, he thinks he'll hit the 40-goal mark, something he's never done in his career thus far, with his current high being 39, which he had during his 102-point campaign in 2022-23.
"Again, this isn't outrageously bold. Pettersson had a 39-goal season in 2022-23 in 80 games, so it's not too wild to suggest he could score 40 goals, but it's a bit bold after he managed just 15 goals last season.

But a rejuvenated Pettersson can reach those heights once again, especially when you consider that he's coming off a year with a career-low shooting percentage. If his shooting percentage bounces back, the confidence will come with it." Wagner said.

With Vancouver's regular season schedule set to begin in a little over four weeks, Vancouver Canucks fans are excited to see how Elias Pettersson bounces back and if he's able to have a strong year in all facets of the game, potentially be a point-per-game player, then it'll go a long way in helping his team's chances of reaching the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
