Just when you thought the Brock Boeser saga was over with the Vancouver Canucks, a new report indicates that their might be a change of interest by the organization, but Brock Boeser is standing firm.

Ever since Brock Boeser was neither extended nor traded at the 2025 NHL trade deadline, one of the biggest story lines heading to this offseason is if Boeser will be returning or testing the market in free-agency.
On Sunday, it was made known what price it would take for the Canucks to offer Boeser for him to stay, but regardless of their interest it still might be too much for general manager Patrik Allvin to give up.
Here's AFP's contract projections for the Canucks upcoming UFAs & RFAs.

UFA:
Brock Boeser - 6y/8.5m
Pius Suter - 4y/4.5m
Derek Forbort - 1y/1.53m
Brisebois/Juulsen/PDG - 0.775m

Brock Boeser appears to have made up his mind about the Vancouver Canucks

Obviously the Canucks were always interested in bringing the former 40-goal scorer back on a long-term deal, but the price he is demanding has always been the issue.
A new report indicates Allvin is in constant talks with Boeser's agent that could change the situation, but it still looks like the star forward has made up his mind and wants to test the market.
«The Canucks keep in contact with his agent,» Dhaliwal said on the Halford and Brough show this past Friday. «They are showing interest, but it sounds like Boeser wants to test July 1st.

«If things don't go his way, I get the feeling that Boeser would be willing to talk with Vancouver again.» - Rick Dhaliwal

The issue is that many clubs will have no problem offering what he wants, which makes it an easy choice for him to bring his talents to the market.
One thing that was made clear is that do not be surprised if the Canucks are still in play if Boeser doesn't get what he wants from other teams, but by that time, the damage might already be done.
