A two-time Stanley Cup champion has reportedly been made available by his team heading into the summer and could be an option for the Vancouver Canucks.

It should be quite an entertaining summer around the National Hockey League with some top names reportedly available, along with some premier free agents who could hit the market on July 1st including Mitch Marner, Brad Marchand, Sam Bennett and Nikolaj Ehlers.
For the Vancouver Canucks, they're expected to be in the thick of things this offseason, with Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford searching for some forward help including a second line centerman as well as top-six winger, if Brock Boeser leaves the organization, which many are expecting to happen.

Two-time Stanley Cup champion reportedly made available this summer

As the Vancouver Canucks continue to evaluate their options to upgrade their forward group, Patrik Allvin and Jim Rutherford are going to have plenty of intriguing players to consider and it looks like a former Stanley Cup champion could be made available in the weeks ahead.
Earlier this month, Harman Dayal and Thomas Drance of The Athletic suggested two-time Stanley Cup champion Bryan Rust as a top-six option for the Vancouver Canucks, citing the fact his no-movement clause expires on Canada Day and the Pittsburgh Penguins could be looking to move out some money.
""Rust's no-movement clause will expire on July 1, and the rebuilding Penguins could look to cash in on the veteran winger's value." Dayal and Drance said.

Flash forward two weeks and it looks like the Pittsburgh Penguins are seriously considering moving on from the former third round pick and he's garnering plenty of interest already.
According to TSN Hockey insider Pierre LeBrun, the Penguins have received a ton of calls recently regarding the Pontiac, Michigan native.
"Pierre LeBrun: Plenty of teams are calling on Penguins forward Bryan Rust" NHL Rumour Report said on X.
Rust, 33, has spent his entire National Hockey League career with the Pittsburgh Penguins since making his debut during the 2014-15 season.
At the age of 32 this past season, (turned 33 back in May), Rust had the most productive campaign of his career thus far, registering 65 points (31 goals, 34 assists), 18 penalty minutes and was a minus-21 in 71 games.
Rust has three years remaining on his contract, which comes with a cap hit of $5.125 million, there won't be a shortage of interest from teams around the NHL, as is the case already, with him being an ideal middle-six fit for contending teams.
