With less than 40 days to go until the National Hockey League's trade deadline for the 2024-25 season, the expectation is that talks will begin heating up in the coming weeks and the Vancouver Canucks will likely be in the thick of things.
Despite that, teams have continued to call the Vancouver Canucks on Elias Pettersson, with Friedman
sharing on Saturday Headlines that the Buffalo Sabres have a lot of interest in the Swedish forward.
"I think those talks continue, and I believe that one of the teams that has really shown a lot of interest is Buffalo. There are others, but the Sabres are definitely in there." Friedman said."

DeDominicis says that there are no concerns from the Sabres on the financial commitment of Elias Pettersson's contract and that General Manager Kevyn Adams has been given the green light to pursue the Sundsvall, Sweden native.
"The good news is that I've been told my concerns about the financial commitments of this deal are not a roadblock. Adams has the green light internally to explore it." DeDominicis said on X.
"It has been reported that the Canucks want Cozens and Byram in a package for Pettersson, though the Canucks are also interested in Power." Pagnotta said.
We'll have to wait and see where things go in the coming weeks, but it looks like the Buffalo Sabres are a legit landing spot for Elias Pettersson.
