Former Vancouver Canucks coach hired by Philadelphia Flyers, reunites with Rick Tocchet
Earlier this month,
the Philadelphia Flyers announced the hiring of former Canucks Assistant Coach Yogi Svejkovsky and it looks like he isn't the only member of Rick Tocchet's staff in Vancouver that'll be heading to
The City of Brotherly Love.
On Friday, the Philadelphia Flyers continued adding to their staff, with Todd Reirden joining Rick Tocchet on the bench as an Assistant Coach, while Dylan Crawford, who was a video coach with the Vancouver Canucks, has been hired as the team's assistant video coach.
"I'm happy to have rounded out my coaching staff by bringing Todd and Dylan on board. Todd's extensive experience across all levels of coaching, as well as his success throughout his career, will play a pivotal role in all facets of our game. Dylan adds another level to our video team in an area that is rapidly expanding and becoming more critical in the outcome of games and the way teams prepare." Tocchet said.
Crawford, 35, began his journey as a video coach in the American Hockey League with the Ottawa Senators, while his dad, former Vancouver Canucks bench boss Marc Crawford, was an Associate Coach with the NHL club.
Dylan Crawford then left the Senators organization in 2019 after being hired as an assistant video coach by the Chicago Blackhawks, and was soon joined by his father in The Windy City as he served as an Assistant Coach.
Ahead of the 2022-23 season, Crawford was hired by the Vancouver Canucks as a their video coach, a role he held until May of this year when the team announced changes to their staff.
