Obviously, a lot of fans are upset with Tocchet for this decision, even claiming that after just one bad season, and being the coach for only two years, that because of who this season went, he no longer wanted to waste his time.
whatever the reason, some fans are calling him out as a quitter...

A lot lotta fans understand why you left, but saying embrace the hard, meet pressure with pressure and they think that you quit on the Canucks, what are your comments about that? What do you think about those to say that?

Hey, I understand it, I can see where they are coming from. Listen, I can explain to them how I am not a quitter, but I understand where they are coming from. Sometimes in life you have decisions you got to make and you hit the cross roads and have to go right or left and sometimes you make the right decisions, sometimes you don't but you have to go with your conviction. it wasn't a quit thing, it was just something I felt for me was to evolve. - Rick Tocchet

He did go on to say that there are other things he was not going to get into that played a big part in him leaving. But felt like it was just the right time for him to part ways.
At the end of the day, people are going to think what they will about Rick Tocchet and his decision to leave the Canucks organization, but you have to give him credit for going on one of the biggest Canucks podcasts in order to tell his side of the story.
