A former goaltender in the Vancouver Canucks organization has decided to leave North America for the third time in his career after suiting up in the ECHL.
Since the start of the offseason, we've seen several former Vancouver Canucks head overseas including goaltender Collin Delia, who signed with Brynas IF in the Swedish Hockey League, Daniel Sprong, who inked a one-year deal in the KHL, among others.
There were also a handful of former Vancouver Canucks that decided to return to North America to continue their respective careers, one of whom was goaltender Zane McIntyre, who signed in the ECHL with the Tahoe Lake Monsters back in late October.
After five games with the Tahoe Lake Monsters, McIntyre has made the decision to head back overseas to Europe following a successful stint in Germany during the 2024-25 campaign.

In a press release on Monday morning, it was announced that Zane McIntyre has signed with the Stavanger Oilers, who play in the Fjordkraftligaen - the top division in Norway, for the remainder of the 2025-26 season.
Note: the following is translated from Norwegian
"Goalie Zane McIntyre is coming to Stavanger and will be at DNB Arena for the rest of the season. McIntyre comes to the Oilers from playing in the German top hockey last season. He will hopefully be ready for us for the game against Frisk Asker in Varner Arena on December 18th." the club said.

McIntyre, a native of Grand Forks, North Dakota, spent part of one season in the Vancouver Canucks organization, suiting up in 24 games for their AHL affiliate at the time, the Utica Comets, as well as serving as the backup in the NHL for one game, before he was traded to the New Jersey Devils in February 2020 for Louis Domingue.
As mentioned, this is the third time in McIntyre's professional career that he's played in Europe following a stint with the Dinamo Riga in the KHL during the 2020-21 campaign and last year in the DEL, Germany's top division, with the Straubing Tigers, where he had a 2.67 goals against average and two shutouts in 24 regular season games.
