An insider has mentioned a rebuilding club in the Western Conference as a potential landing spot for Vancouver Canucks pending UFA forward Brock Boeser.

In just over a week, the National Hockey League's free agency period will open and it's going to be an interesting one to say the least, with names like Mitch Marner, Sam Bennett, Brad Marchand, Aaron Ekblad eligible to hit the market.
The Vancouver Canucks have a couple of notable names to keep an eye on next Tuesday as Brock Boeser and Pius Suter are set to become unrestricted free agents, with the former reportedly a longshot to re-sign with the club before Canada Day.

Brock Boeser is going to be a hot commodity on July 1st as teams around the National Hockey League are looking for an offensive boost in their top-six.
As of Saturday, the Burnsville, Minnesota native was linked to nine teams by The Fourth Period including contenders such as the Tampa Bay Lightning.
"For teams looking to add some scoring punch in their top-six, Boeser is a top option for them to pursue this July.

Teams Reportedly Linked: Los Angeles, Minnesota, Ottawa, Tampa Bay, Anaheim, Buffalo, Chicago, Nashville, Detroit" The Fourth Period said.

On Friday, Rick Dhaliwal was a guest on Halford and Brough where he gave an update on the Brock Boeser file, saying that unless the Vancouver Canucks come up with a last-minute offer, which is pretty unlikely, he'll become a free agent on July 1st.
Dhaliwal also mentioned that among the potential landing spots this summer for the former 40-goal scorer is the San Jose Sharks, who are looking to take a step forward in their rebuild next season.
The San Jose Sharks have a ton of cap space heading into the summer, $41.75 million to be exact according to PuckPedia and are poised to make a big splash this summer, whether that be on the trade or free agent market.
Adding Brock Boeser, someone who's capable of scoring 25-30 goals per season, to a top-six forward group that features Macklin Celebrini, Will Smith, William Eklund, Tyler Toffoli and Alexander Wennberg would certainly help the Sharks get out of the NHL's basement, but the pending UFA alone likely won't be enough for them to get close to a spot in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
It'll be interesting to see if the San Jose Sharks end up offering Brock Boeser a contract on July 1st and whether he prioritizes money or going to a winning team.
