LATEST | Canucks' Cole manhandles superstar forward in mismatched fight
The Vancouver Canucks suffered a crushing 4-3 overtime loss against the Detroit Red Wings on Saturday afternoon in what was a rollercoaster of a game. The game was sealed by a Jake Walman penalty shot goal just 23 seconds into overtime.
The matchup was not without its fair share of physicality, as several scrums broke out resulting in 45 total penalty minutes, including a Nikita Zadorov five-minute match penalty and a mismatched tilt between Ian Cole and Alex Debrincat. Watch Cole land several tough blows as the undersized Debrincat struggles to hold his own against the much bigger Canucks rearguard:
Debrincat leads with an aggressive approach, but quickly tires as Cole lands several haymakers and hauls him down. Both would be assessed five-minute fighting penalties.
