Vancouver Canucks forward Teddy Blueger is set to be out for longer than anyone was anticipating following an update from General Manager Patrik Allvin on Sunday.

The Vancouver Canucks have several key players on the sidelines right now including Latvian forward Teddy Blueger, who is in the final year of his current deal and is hoping that he can use this season as a springboard to land a big payday next summer.
Blueger missed the first part of the 2025-26 season due to an injury and in his second game back, which came on October 19th against the Washington Capitals, the Riga native was hurt once again.
As expected, a few days after suffering his injury, the Vancouver Canucks placed Teddy Blueger on IR and despite Rick Dhaliwal reporting on October 30th that he could be back within a week, he remains on the sidelines nearly one month after getting hurt.

GM Patrik Allvin gives injury update on Vancouver Canucks forward Teddy Blueger

Earlier this month, Blueger returned to the ice, albeit in a non-contact sweater, with many wondering if he was nearing a return to game action, but Head Coach Adam Foote poured cold water on that after after the 31-year-old didn't accompany them on their three-game road trip to Carolina, Tampa Bay and Florida.
On Sunday, Vancouver Canucks GM Patrik Allvin met with reporters to discuss the signing of free agent Czech forward David Kampf and also gave injury updates on a few players including Teddy Blueger.
Despite being on the sidelines for 29 days, Patrik Allvin said that he thinks Teddy Blueger will still be out week-to-week, which understandably something that fans weren't too happy to hear.
"Patrik Allvin says Teddy Blueger is skating, but he still thinks he's week-to-week." Brendan Batchelor of Sportsnet 650 said.
While Teddy Blueger might be a depth player on this Canucks roster, he's still a very important piece for Adam Foote and the coaching staff, especially on the penalty kill and in the faceoff dot, but with the the arrival of David Kampf after signing a one-year contract on Saturday, the club doesn't need to rush the 31-year-old back and can play it safe for at least the next week or two.
