Steven Stamkos' name has been circling around the entire NHL as the Nashville Predators intend on trading him sooner rather than later, and the Vancouver Canucks are one of the favourites to land him.

The Montreal Canadiens are also a top team to be vying for Stamkos' services.
"Stamkos has struggled since joining the Predators and could be looking for a trade in the near future, with 9 players currently injured for the Canucks they don't have many choices."-Stinson

Stamkos trade talks at an all time high.

The NHL Rumour Report on X has posted that the rumours are well and true that Stamkos is on his way out of Nashville and Vancouver and Montreal were specifically named, because they're the frontrunners to land him.
Jeff Marek: Re Steven Stamkos: Make no mistake about it, Vancouver is part of that conversation, as is Montreal, as are a number of teams - Sekeres & Price (11/14)
Stamkos is nearing the end of his career at 35 years old, and he isn't performing well at all in Nashville only scoring 5 points in 20 games and a -8 rating, he is a shell of his former self. But the Canucks are running out of options and a change scenery could spark the last little bit of hockey Stamkos has left in him.
The Canucks are in desperate need of any kind of reinforcements up front, mostly up the middle, but they need some sort of scoring touch. While Stamkos seems to have lost it, it may be worth taking the risk to see if he still has it. And it could be the catalyst for the Canucks offensively.
