The Canucks first dealt Horvat to the Islanders for a heck of a return, then traded parts of that return to the Red Wings and other parts to the Blackhawks and the Flames. They landed two very prominent players on their current line-up:
Everybody has been talking about how great Hronek has been ever since he joined the Canucks. Through 65 games this year, he's managed a career-high 45 points with a few games remaining on the team's calendar.
What nobody has been talking about is how Aatu Raty is slowly becoming one of Abbotsford Canucks' biggest offensive menace, and today was yet another proof of it as he's entered team history with nothing less than 4 points in the game's first period:
Raty first had a tough time finding his game; in his first North American season, the Finnish collected 27 points through 52 games. However, his 2023-2024 totals are now up to 41 after 60 games. Known to be a responsible player at both ends of the ice, he could very well be part of the Canucks' plan in 2024-2025.
The former Canucks captain, for his part, had a tough time adjusting to his new Long Islander reality. After he was traded, he only managed 16 points through 30 games. This season has been a completely different story; about registering a third straight 30+ goal season (he has 29), Horvat managed 61 points during his team's first 66 games.
