LATEST | Canucks' prospect receives massive honour: Fifth round draft pick stealing the spotlight?
Vancouver Canucks goaltending prospect Aku Koskenvuo showed up big time for his college, Harvard, last Friday and has been honoured by ECAC Hockey.
On Monday, ECAC Hockey announced that Aku Koskenvuo has been named goaltender of the week after recording a 36-save shutout during Harvard's 1-0 win over Princeton University. With the win, Harvard has advanced to a best-of-three quarterfinal against Cornell University.
"Aku Koskenvuo earned this week's ECACs Goaltender of the Week. #Canucks
He stopped all 36 shots in a 1-0 semi-final victory to punch his Harvard Crimson a ticket to a best-of-three quarter final round on Friday."
Koskenvuo, 21, has appeared in 16 games for Harvard this season where he has a record of 5-5-4 with a 2.87 goals against average, a .914 save percentage and two shutouts.
Depending on how Koskenvuo and Harvard do in the best-of-three series against Cornell University, they could advance to the semi-finals and potentially finals, which will be held in Lake Placid on the weekend of March 23rd and 24th. If Harvard win the ECAC Hockey Championship, they'll advance to the 2024 Frozen Four in April at Xcel Energy Center, home of the Minnesota Wild.
