A fan believes that Evander Kane used AI to create his goodbye message to the Edmonton Oilers and their fans, which he posted just before his trade to Vancouver.

The Vancouver Canucks completed their first trade of the summer on Wednesday morning as they acquired veteran forward Evander Kane from the Edmonton Oilers in exchange for a 2025 fourth round pick.
Evander Kane is quite happy with being able to finally play for his hometown Vancouver Canucks starting this fall, something he expressed on social media on Wednesday, however one fan pointed out that he may have used AI to create the post.

Evander Kane Exposed for using AI to create goodbye message to Edmonton Oilers on social media

Shortly before the trade was made official or even reported on by NHL insiders, Evander Kane announced the news himself in a post on X, saying goodbye to the Edmonton Oilers and hello to his new club, the Vancouver Canucks.
"With that said, I'm incredibly excited for the next chapter of my career as I join the @Canucks . It's an honor to become part of an organization and team I grew up watching as a kid.

Vancouver is a city that lives and breathes hockey, I'm looking forward to the opportunity to play in front of my hometown as I did many years ago as a Vancouver Giant." Kane said.

A fan on X ran Evander Kane's post through a Chat GPT detector and it came back that 98.3 percent of it was made by AI, which obviously drew the attention of other fans.
"REALLY DUDE????????????" @StickzNPuck said.
While there's certainly a chance that Evander Kane used AI/Chat GPT to use write his goodbye message, one fan pointed out that the Oilers Nation podcast looked into it and it appears that it was done up by a human, whether that be the now-Vancouver Canucks forward or a publicist is unclear.
"Tyler and Liam were talking about this today on Oilers nation and they said when they looked into it, it said it looks to be written by a human 🤷🏻‍♂️" @RussianRocket10 said.
Whether Evander Kane used AI or not, it was quite a nice message to Edmonton Oilers fans, thanking them for all their support over the last four years and being able to help them reach the Stanley Cup Final in back-to-back years.
