A Spittin' Chiclets co-host and former National Hockey League forward has linked Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes to a team in the Eastern Conference.

In less than ten months, Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes will be eligible to sign a contract extension with the club but with rumors circulating all summer about his future in British Columbia, it isn't a foregone conclusion that he will put pen-to-paper on a new deal next summer.
Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman believes that we're in a bit of an uncertainty zone with Quinn Hughes and his future in Vancouver, as how the Canucks perform during the 2025-26 campaign will play a big factor in whether or not he wants to stick around on a long-term basis.
"This is an enormous season in Vancouver and I think that Quinn, a lot of what he's going to do is going to be determined by how this year goes. He's a pretty serious guy, and he cares more about winning. He loves hockey. He's the right kind of person to have as your captain." Friedman said.

Paul Bissonnette links Vancouver Canucks' Quinn Hughes to Eastern Conference team

On Tuesday's edition of Spittin' Chiclets, former National Hockey League forward Paul Bissonette gave his take on the Quinn Hughes situation and even shared some interesting information he's heard on the matter.
Bissonnette said that someone in the Hughes family wants them to be playing for the New York Rangers, but later went on to say that he expected them all to be New Jersey Devils, meaning Quinn would join his brothers Luke and Jack in The Garden State.
"I have heard rumblings that someone in the family wants them to be Rangers, New York Rangers. I, depending on how the next year goes, maybe you could give it two years; I would assume that they just all end up and stay in New Jersey. I think it's inevitable," Bissonnette said.

The odds of them all ending up with the New York Rangers is likely a pipe dream as the Devils have no intention of moving on from Jack or Luke, although the latter is in a bit of a contract stalemate at the moment, and certainly wouldn't trade them to their biggest rival.
Bissonnette added that if things don't do well in Vancouver this season, the Canucks may have to move Hughes before the deadline as he believes they'll get a haul for him given the 25-year-old still has one year remaining on his deal beyond the 2025-26 campaign.
"Luke's going to be offered this monstrous entry-level deal. Jack's got probably four to five years left on that eight-year deal. And then my assumption is the Canucks are going to be like, "Listen, what do you want to do?" and they have to want to get a boatload in return because you can't lose him for nothing. And if it were to happen in the second part of this season if things aren't going well for Vancouver, you get so much more for him because he still has next year on the deal."

Thankfully Quinn Hughes isn't worrying about the outside noise right now, telling Sportsnet's Iain MacIntyre earlier this month that he can handle it, but as the season drags on, if the Canucks aren't in a playoff spot or within striking distance of one, those rumors are only going to get louder.
On the flip side, if Hughes and his Canucks teammates get off to a great start to the new season, then maybe the rumors will slow down a bit, allowing Vancouver to be drama-free both on and off the ice.
