On the eve of the start of their new campaign, Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes says the team is determined to bounce back after a tough 2024-25 season.

A little less than six months ago, the Vancouver Canucks' came to an end without postseason hockey in British Columbia, with many questions needing to be answered heading into the summer.
General Manager Patrik Allvin went to work right away, promoting Adam Foote to the role of Head Coach, locking up Brock Boeser to a seven-year extension and bringing in Evander Kane in a trade with the Edmonton Oilers.
After all the drama, inconsistency and injuries that plagued the team last season, the Vancouver Canucks are ready to turn the page and are hopeful that this year will end with them in the Stanley Cup Playoffs.

When meeting with reporters yesterday, Vancouver Canucks captain Quinn Hughes said that the group is feeling great heading into the 2025-26 season, adding that it's more enjoyable coming to the rink now than it was a year ago.
"I think that everyone just came with a fresh mentality, positive and happy to be here." Hughes said.

He added, "I'd say we're in a different place than we were last year, probably more at peace. It's enjoyable to come to the rink right now."

Much like last year, the Vancouver Canucks will begin the 2025-26 season at home as they host the Calgary Flames in what should be a fantastic game featuring two of the league's top goaltenders, Thatcher Demko and Dustin Wolf, but it won't be an easy first month for Adam Foote's group.
Six of Vancouver's first eight games this season are away from Rogers Arena, which will pose a tough test for the Canucks and if they're able to come out on top in at least 60% of their games on that five game road trip later this month, they'll be in a very good position.
