Rick Tocchet confirms it for Arturs Silovs and Casey DeSmith
The Canucks will be facing off with the Defending Champs once again. The Golden Knights are in Vancouver, which will be an imposing task for the home team.
In his pre-game interview, Rick Tocchet confirmed he'd adopt a bold strategy with the Golden Knights in town. Since Thatcher Demko was sidelined, Tocchet ran with Casey DeSmith as his starter, but a meagre 0.500 record had him reconsider his position.
Tocchet confirmed that the young Arturs Silovs would be getting the start and the heavy load of stopping some of the NHL's very best scorers in Jack Eichel and Jonathan Marchessault:

The Canucks' young protegee excelled in the two opportunities he had at the NHL level. Silovs managed two wins, a 1.50 goal-against average and stopped 93% of the pucks sent his way.
Tocchet commented on the importance of the game, he was asked how he felt regarding the load they were about to give Silovs. The Canucks' pilot was confident in his netminder's ability to lead the team to victory:
«I don't think the moment is too big for him, I really don't.»
With DeSmith hitting free agency this summer, this test could determine whether or not Silovs takes over as the man backing up Demko next year.
