Surprising Turn of Events Regarding the Rumors Surrounding Nikita Zadorov Returning to the Vancouver Canucks
A recent rumor that the Vancouver Canucks attempt to try and acquire Boston bruins defenseman Nikita Zadorov has been confirmed.
As the Vancouver Canucks are still in search for a top-4 defenseman through a trade, a couple weeks ago there were many names that could be a great interest.
The Canucks have been linked a number of big names such as Marcus Pettersson, Rasmus Andersson, MacKenzie Weegar and even Mike Matheson.
Recently, Sportsnet analyst and NHL insider Elliotte Friedman wondered if the Vancouver Canucks would make an attempt to have a reunion with Nikita Zadorov, who signed with the Boston Bruins in free agency over the summer.
"Weird idea that may only make sense to me: Nikita Zadorov back to Vancouver. No idea if even possible, or if anyone would want it, but he was a good fit and the Canucks miss him." Friedman said.
It was believed that this was all just a rumor as Zadorov's agent Dan Milstein said the Canucks didn't inquire about trying to re-acquire the big d-man.
According to Dhali, he texted Dan Milstein last night and the agent has not heard Canucks are going after Zadorov yet.
But, contrary to belief, a recent report revealed that this was not the case, that the Canucks did in fact test the waters on Big Z's availability.
General manager Patrik Allvin recently did contact the Boston Bruins to discuss a trade for Nikita Zadorov, according to a new report. It is not confirmed if this call happened before al the rumors or after.
«We already know they've thought about Nikita Zadorov; some say they've already called Boston about Zadorov,» explained CHEK's Rick Dhaliwal when talking about the Canucks on the Halford & Brough show.
It was said the conversation was short and did not lead to anything.
The important information is that the line of communication is now open between the Canucks and Bruins, which can lead to some more development with big z as they inch closer to the trade deadline.
