Hockey is back and as the Vancouver Canucks begin their 2025-26 season tonight, tickets for their home opener at Rogers Arena against Calgary will cost you a lot.

176 days ago, the Vancouver Canucks wrapped up the 2024-25 season with a loss to the Vegas Golden Knights and a ton of questions needing to be answered heading into the summer.
A little less than six months later and finally, the Vancouver Canucks are back, as Adam Foote's group will open up the 2025-26 season tonight on home ice against their Western Canadian rivals, the Calgary Flames.
Tickets went on-sale went on-sale a couple of months ago and fans weren't too happy with the pricing and likely still aren't with those seats still available for tonight's game.

Ticket prices for Vancouver Canucks' home opener tonight will cost you a lot

Izzy Cheung of The Hockey News took a look this week at those ticket prices for Thursday's home opener and based on what's still available, fans will have to reach deep into their pockets if they want to be in attendance.
For a seat in the upper bowl, most tickets will set you back anywhere from $140 to $200 CAD, with the cheapest costing fans $136 CAD in section 418, Cheung says.
As for the lower bowl, as is the case every game, those are the most expensive seats, with tickets right up against the glass, giving fans the closest view to their favourite players, costing anywhere from $430 to $1,223 CAD.
Vancouver Canucks President of Hockey Operations Jim Rutherford spoke about the organization's decision to raise ticket prices when meeting with reporters in April, saying that he understands the frustration from the fans, especially with the club increasing how much it'll cost to enter Rogers Arena after failing to make it to the Stanley Cup Playoffs.
"Well I understand the frustration. I don't like to pay more for anything either, neither of us do. But, not being in the playoffs after having a price increase is hard for people to understand. I'm not responsible for the price of tickets, so I'll make that clear. It's not my lane." Rutherford said.

He added, "But the one thing I will say is part of that is not just about the hockey team with the cap going up, that is part of it, but another part of it is the building that we have. Investing money back into an older building that we're fortunate this is almost filled for every game. Our renewal rate on season tickets is very high. It's well into the 90 percent. So I can understand the frustration of people, but they do have to understand that the money is being invested back into the building and offset the cap."

Puck drop for tonight's game against the Calgary Flames is set for 7 p.m. PT and can be viewed in British Columbia on Sportsnet Pacific with John Shorthouse and Dave Tomlinson on the call.
